What is gofile.is?
gofile.is is a simple file-hosting service. Drag and drop any file and you get a shareable link in seconds — no setup required. Files are uploaded directly to secure storage and only people with the link can access them.
Is it free?
Yes. Without an account you get 1 GB of storage as a guest. Verify your email address to get the free plan with 10 GB. Paid plans add more storage, larger per-file limits, and extra features such as password protection.
How long are files kept?
On the guest and free plans, files are automatically deleted after 10 days without downloads. On paid plans, your files are kept for as long as your plan remains active.
What is the maximum file size?
The free plan supports everyday file sizes, and premium plans raise the per-file limit significantly. See the pricing page for the exact limits on each plan.
Do I need an account?
No. You can upload and share files without signing up. When you first use the service we create a guest account for you automatically so your uploads stay together.
How do guest accounts and API tokens work?
A guest account lives in your current browser and expires after a period of inactivity. Each account has an API token, shown on your profile, which is the only way to get back into a guest account from another device or after clearing your cookies — so save it somewhere safe. The same token authenticates requests to the gofile.is API.
How do I go premium?
Visit the pricing page and pick a plan. Premium keeps your files while your plan is active, raises your storage and per-file limits, and unlocks password-protected files and folders.
